Meet the Owners
Laura
Director
Ms. Laura is a highly experienced child care professional who has spent her entire career serving families in the greater Warwick and Cranston areas. Her experience includes preschool programs, before and after school care, summer camp and youth programs. She was born and raised in Rhode Island and spent her early years as a student at her family-owned child care centers in Warwick. Liddle Tots, Liddle Tots II TEEN and Ocean State Kidz were founded by her parents in the early 90’s to accommodate children from infant age through 6th grade. Laura experienced first-hand and benefited from the high-quality child care provided by her family’s business.
Laura followed in her family’s footsteps and became Director of Liddle Tots II TEEN in 2009. While serving in this role, Laura recognized the need for youth programs for students in grades 6th through 8th. With a passion for serving the youth in their community, Laura and her husband Matt decided to create Ocean State Kidz Club. This club was designed to serve youth in grades 6th-8th with a unique program that would perfectly meet the communities’ needs. The center’s programs are heavily influenced by input from the children and families she has served over the last ten years. She brings vision, vitality, leadership and commitment to excellence to this novel program.
Laura’s entrepreneurial spirit and love of children is the motivation behind her desire to provide the highest quality child care and create an environment that is safe, nurturing and stimulating for all her students. Laura is excited about this new opportunity to bring her creative skills, passions and talent to Ocean State Kidz Club youth programs. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for gluten-free cooking, theatre, music, holiday shows, leadership clubs and much more! Her cat, Darla Jean, is excited too!
Matt
General Manager
Matt is a seasoned professional with over ten years of experience working in the school-age child care industry. “Mr. Matt” is fun, outgoing and tends to be every child’s favorite teacher and coach. Matt started his career as an emergency medical technician which gave him the knowledge and skills to provide parents with assurance and a sense of safety. His passion for music, sports and fitness has brought a dynamic and unique program to our curriculum. Matt spent his younger years playing sports and studying music and understands the challenges of finding and developing one’s talents. He is devoted to creating a safe, fun, enriching environment where children can expand their horizons.
With a passion for serving the youth in their community, Matt and his wife Laura decided to create Ocean State Kidz Club. This club was designed to serve youth in grades 6th-8th with a unique program that would perfectly meet the communities’ needs. Matt is committed to continue providing the highest quality child care to families and serves as a role model to all.
